Rebecca Kinsey is an artist, graphic designer, word-nerd, and occasional pirate currently based in Byron Bay, Australia. She began her career as a graphic designer, graduating from Sydney Graphics College, followed by an internship at the Powerhouse Museum (Sydney, Australia). Originally a self-taught painter, Rebecca completed a degree in Visual Arts at Southern Cross University (2010), followed by a Bachelor of Fine Art with First Class Honours at the Queensland College of Art (2014). She is the recipient of an Australia Council ArtStart Grant with which she fulfilled a Summer Residency Program in Sculpture, Installation and New Media Art at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in NYC in 2011. While pursuing her own practice, since 2011 she has also been working together with Brooklyn based artist, Hannah Lamar Simmons, on their collaborative project paperJAM, which has included renegade street installations, exhibitions with No Longer Empty and FIGMENT NYC and shared residencies at the Art Students League of New York.
